In this Spanish wine tasting, we will start with the fascinating world of white wines, exploring their freshness, elegance, and the diversity of nuances they hold. We will begin with Galicia and its famous Albariño grape from Rías Baixas, or the Ribera Sacra with its Godello grown on steep terraces along the Sil River. We will then move on to Rueda with its crisp and aromatic Verdejo grape, not forgetting other lesser-known regions that produce great white wines infused with the DNA of the Mediterranean Sea.
We will continue with red wines and embark on an exciting journey through Spain’s prestigious wine regions. From the ancient Rioja with its different aging styles and elegant Tempranillo grape, to the sun-drenched vineyards of Ribera del Duero, known for the significant temperature variation between day and night. Some of the country’s most prestigious wines also come from this appellation. We can’t miss mentioning Priorat, a denomination of origin known for its terraced vineyards and powerful, characterful red wines, predominantly made from old Grenache and Carignan vines.
This tasting will be guided by Celia Novoa, a sommelier and graduate in Tourism from the University of Girona, who will share her knowledge and passion for wine, making the experience unforgettable and, of course, fun.
Throughout the tasting, we will learn about terroir, the influence of different climates, aging processes, and various winemaking techniques.
The tasting will consist of a virtual journey where we will sample between 6 and 8 wines, aiming to appreciate the aromatic and gustatory differences as we travel through the different regions.
At the end of the wine tasting, a selection of typical local products will be provided, enhancing and complementing the flavors of the wines tasted. This offers a complete and enriching gastronomic experience for the attendees.
The duration of the tasting ranges from 1:30 to 2 hours.
